The role of Section of Primary Dental Education in the first year

For first-year students in the School of Dentistry and the School of Oral Health Sciences, the Division of General Education provides a diverse range of foundational courses based on the University’s curriculum policy.

1. To cultivate the ethical awareness and communication skills required of dental professionals who deliver comprehensive patient-centered care, the curriculum includes a strong emphasis on courses in the humanities, social sciences, and communication.
2. To support the practice of evidence-based dentistry and oral health care, courses that foster logical and critical thinking are also enhanced.
3. To broaden students’ international perspectives and prepare them for the globalization of healthcare, practical foreign language education is incorporated into the curriculum.
