We deliver advanced medical care to countries around the world and foster a global perspective that meets the needs of an increasingly interconnected world.

Kyushu Dental University promotes international healthcare activities grounded in a spirit of volunteerism. To date, we have undertaken a wide range of initiatives in countries such as Nepal, Tunisia, and Vietnam, including clinical care, public health activities, and treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate. We will continue to provide active support to people in countries and regions that require advanced dental and medical care.

International Dental Healthcare Support and Technical Assistance

Kyushu Dental University participates in an international dental healthcare support project in Ben Tre Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This initiative has been conducted by the Japan Cleft Lip and Palate Association since 1992, with Professor Takeshi Katsuki (Professor Emeritus of Saga University), an alumnus of our university, serving as the leader of the volunteer team. Dentists, physicians, and nurses from across Japan take part in this project, providing intensive examinations and surgical treatments over the course of one week.

Despite Vietnam’s rapid development in recent years, many rural areas, including Ben Tre Province, still lack sufficient dental healthcare infrastructure and require ongoing support. Kyushu Dental University has provided healthcare assistance in countries such as Nepal and Tunisia and will continue to expand these initiatives in the future.

Students

Kyushu Dental University is a place full of warmth and hospitality, and is very appealing to international students.
Kyushu Dental University welcomes international students and provides comprehensive support for both daily life and academic needs. For daily life support, students can consult the General Consultation Office, as well as the head or deputy head faculty members and academic advisors for each year level. For academic support, course instructors are available for consultation through the Student Hour system and via email. In addition, administrative offices provide assistance in applying for scholarships and other financial support.
